TULAKHON ABDULAZIZOVA

MARKHAMAT VILLAGE, TAJIKISTAN

Tulakhon Abdulazizova is 50 years old. She was born in Oshoba village into a large family of ten children. She has three sisters and six brothers. She was married but got divorced. She has one son who is 23 years old and she and her son live with her parents. Tulakhon is a professional spinner – spinning is her favorite hobby. Her mother was also a spinner and taught her how to spin when she was a young girl. Tulakhon is now a leader of the Markhamat spinning group and works with 10 spinners. Her biggest hope is that their yarn will find many buyers in the United States. The spinning job and the project provided her with many opportunities. She was able to travel to the United States, met many new people and learned many interesting things about spinning and about America during her trip. She enjoyed her visit very much.
