GARMCHACHMA VILLAGE, TAJIKISTAN

My name is Ramziya Rizoeva, I am 28 years old. I am married and have 3 children, 1 daughter and 2 sons. My daughter is in second the grade, my older son is in first grade and my youngest son is two years old. I graduated from high school in 2005 and got married in 2007. I have no University or College education. I have been weaving, sewing clothes and making yarn since I was twelve. I also like to work in the garden and plant flowers. But I spend most of my time raising my children. I enjoy working in the spinning workshop, which is in another village 7 km from my house. Because my children are small, I can visit the workshop only twice a month and I mostly spin at home. I like to spin because it is very calming. I also knit products for sale and while knitting I always think whether I will be able to find buyers for my products. Our family income almost fully depends on my husband who owns a small gas station. The money I earn from spinning I spend on my children. My family’s health and happiness is the most important thing for me. Living in Tajikistan, and after my experience of the civil war in Tajikistan, I appreciate the current peace in our homeland. My wish for the future is good health and prosperity for my children as well as peace and stability in our region.
